Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 28, 2026
This policy describes what information is handled when you read localflavormagazine.com, how the operator uses it and the choices you have. The operator is the person or organisation running Localflavormagazine, and the words we and us refer to the operator.
Visit logs
The servers that deliver our restaurant guides, fishing notes and artisan profiles keep routine logs. An entry can include your IP address, the time of the visit, the page requested, your browser and device type and the page that sent you here. We use these logs to keep the magazine online, to find broken pages, to block abusive traffic and to see in broad terms which stories are being read.
Cookies and similar tools
Pages here may set cookies or store small items in your browser. Some keep pages working. Others, where enabled, count audiences, remember a display choice, support advertising or note which link led a reader to a restaurant booking service, outdoor retailer or art seller for affiliate attribution. Cookies placed by outside companies are governed by those companies’ own notices.
Controlling tracking in your browser
You can block or clear cookies, browse privately or add tracking-protection tools. When your browser sends a global privacy or do-not-track signal, we honour it as an opt-out wherever the tools we use allow. Some features, such as embedded maps, may work less well if you block storage.
Emails and forms
When you write to [email protected], we receive your address and whatever you include, such as a note about a closed diner or a tip about a local potter. We use it to answer you, to correct our pages and to keep a record of the exchange. We do not sell messages, and we will not publish your words or name without asking.
Newsletters
If a newsletter or sign-up form is offered, the details you enter are used to send what you requested and to manage your subscription. Each issue explains how to unsubscribe, and you may also ask us by email to remove you.
Outside services
A magazine like this relies on outside providers, which may include hosting and content delivery, analytics, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded maps, videos or social posts. To do their job, such providers can see technical details such as your IP address and the pages you open. They operate under their own privacy terms, outside our control.
How long information is kept
Visit logs are held for a short working period and then erased or boiled down to counts that identify no one. Emails are kept while they help us answer you, fix an article or meet a legal duty, and are deleted afterwards.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to certain uses or withdraw consent. To ask, email [email protected] and describe your request. Before acting on a request we may ask for proof that the message really comes from you, and we will reply within the period set by the rules that apply where you live.
Children
Localflavormagazine is written for a general adult audience and is not aimed at children under 13. Our restaurant, fishing and craft coverage does not seek out details from young readers. If a parent finds that a child has emailed us, a note to the address above will get that message erased.
Security
We use reasonable measures such as encrypted connections and limited access to the inbox. No system on the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your information.
International transfers
Our providers may handle data in other countries, where privacy laws can differ from those near you. By continuing to read the magazine you accept that your information may travel in that way.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as the magazine or the law changes. The effective date above shows when the current version began, and continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised text.
